Upcoming classes through Braham Community Ed

CPR Red Cross Training Courses for those ages 16 years and up will be taught by Britne Engelking, Certified Trainer & Braham Area High School Phy-Ed Teacher.

The Braham Area Schools are an authorized Red Cross provider, allowing it to offer this class through Community Education at a discounted fee.

CPR Beginner Certification

Looking to get certified for the first time with a Red Cross CPR program or have let your current one expire? Then this is the course you should take.

It is approved for coaches, babysitters, teachers, lifeguards, students, or anyone that requires a CPR certification. They will cover the basics of Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation, abdominal thrusts (commonly called the Heimlich Maneuver) and use of the AED. The curriculum used will include the latest Red Cross guidelines. Once you complete this course, you will receive a certification good for two full years.

Class will be held on Saturday, March 9, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.  at the Braham Area High School, for a fee of $29. Pre-registration is due by Thursday, Feb. 28.

CPR Refresher Certification

This class is for those that have already taken the Red Cross CPR/AED certification course within the past two years and need to renew it. Class will be held on Thursday, March 14, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Braham Area High School for a fee of  $29. Pre-registration is due by Monday,  March 4.

Dream Catchers Class

Join Dan Skogs, a true Native American, who will tell you about his own heritage, the story behind the dream catcher and even show you how to make your own authentic dream catcher using fresh willow and sinew.

Dream Catchers have been one of the most fascinating traditions of the Native American Indian culture for generations. Refreshments will be a part of this enjoyable evening. Sign up soon as early space is limited.

Class will be held Thursday, March 7, from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m., (ages 16 & up), at Braham Area High School. Class cost is $10, (a material cost of $5 will be payable to instructor night of class.) Pre-registration and class payment is required by Tuesday, Feb. 26.
