Suspect sought in Rush City bank robbery
A man who claimed he had a gun robbed Northwoods Bank in Rush City shortly after the noon hour Tuesday, Feb. 19.
According to the Chisago County Sheriff’s Office, the suspect, described as a white male, about 5 feet 7 inches tall and 220 pounds, entered the bank at 12:41 p.m. and advised the teller it was a robbery, that he had a gun and demanded cash.
The suspect then handed the teller a plastic grocery bag and fled with an undisclosed amount of money in a vehicle described as a black, two-door passenger compact, authorities said.
According to the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, the suspect is about 50 to 55 years old, between 5 foot 7 inches and 5 foot 9 inches tall, with a grey mustache. He also was wearing a hunter green jacket with hood and sunglasses, while the vehicle he fled in was dirty with a loud exhaust.
