Cambridge Medical Center’s Harbor Room Cancer Resource Center is offering a five-week series of gentle yoga instruction.
The “Breathe, Stretch, Relax” class will be held on Wednesdays from 10:45 to 11:45 a.m. beginning March 13 through April 10.
A minimum $10 contribution will cover all five weeks of classes; however, they will be free for those currently undergoing cancer treatments. The class will be held at WillowBridge Center in Cambridge. Instructor Amy Jensen will donate her time.
“Breathe, Stretch, Relax” is appropriate for all levels of students. The class begins with a 10 to 15-minute centering practice which allows the student to slow down and prepare for the rest of the class. The class continues with stretching and gently strengthening the body with an emphasis on using the breath as a guide. The last 15 minutes of class include a restorative practice that allows the body and mind to become quiet and to focus on healing.
Anyone affected by cancer, in any way, is invited to attend—whether a patient or a family member or supportive friend of someone with cancer.
There are a limited number of openings for this class so register early.
To register call Bonnie at the Harbor Room at 763-688-8415.
