It’s time to bring back God into our lives

What is happening in our country? Why do people commit such horrible crimes like the recent murder of 20 innocent children in their classroom, the killing of 12 people in a movie theater, the shooting spree that killed many people at a McDonalds and a shopping mall?

For a long time, our country has been slowly disconnecting from its founding Christian principles. God has been taken out of our classrooms and out of our lives. It is time to bring God back into our lives and give reverence to Him. After all, our country is a Christian Nation that was founded on Christian principles even though not all founders were Christian. Our National Moto is: “In God We Trust.” Do we or don’t we?

There have been many famous Americans including our founding fathers that throughout our nation’s history have used Biblical principles from the Bible to help guide them in their capacity to shape and influence our nation. These people have honored God and relied on His Word to guide them in their historic roles of leadership that have profoundly impacted our country. It is time to show the world what this great country was built on: The Holy Bible and belief in God!

God’s greatest gift to man is the Bible. It is an instruction manual for life that teaches us how to live and treat others. It contains God’s standards of moral conduct … the “Ten Commandments”. The Bible also tells us that we must be held accountable for our actions. There is a penalty for knowingly doing wrong and a blessing for doing what is right and noble.

God gave all people a conscience that acts like a filter to help discern the difference between right and wrong. Our conscience is like a moral compass that gives us direction in life. Only when a conscience is weak are crimes committed. To strengthen the conscience people must strengthen their relationship with God. A strong conscience will help people do the right thing all the time even when no one is watching. Our jails and prisons are filled with criminals because their conscience is weak or almost nonexistent. Their conscience is weak because they do not fear God. They do not fear God because they do not know God. They do not know God because they do not read the Bible. That is why most people commit crimes. “So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves.” (Galatians 5:16 NLT)

People can talk about gun control, adding security guards or arming teachers with guns all they want but none of these things can fix the real cause of why people have become so evil. The cause of most crimes is the absence of God in people’s lives. So, until our Nation acknowledges the need to bring God back into our lives, these terrible events will continue.

If a person obeys God, observing the moral truths found in the Bible, that person will be blessed. If they disobey, they will be punished. One day we all have to answer to Him for our actions both good and bad but if a person never reads the Bible, how would they know that? All the answers to all of life’s problems are in the Bible. God gave us life, He gave us the Bible and He gave us free will and opportunity to use His words as a guide for our life. It is up to us to decide; should we trust God or follow our sinful ways?

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.” (Proverbs 3:5+6 NLT) … Just my thoughts.
