The East Central Regional Arts Council (ECRAC) is an organization dedicated to improving the quantity and quality of arts.
This is accomplished primarily through grant-making for organizations and for individuals in Region 7E (Chisago, Isanti, Kanabec, Mille Lacs, and Pine counties in Minnesota.)
Currently arts funding is available for individuals: Artist Fellowships, Arts Scholarships for kids, and Individual Artist grants. Only applicants permanently residing in Region 7E are eligible for this grant funding. Applications for Fellowships, Scholarships, and Individual Artist Grants are competitive and are encouraged from artists in all disciplines. For more information on these artist programs, and for the grant applications, go online to www.ecrac.org or call 320-396-2337.
The East Central Regional Arts Council (ECRAC) McKnight Fellowship program is a grant designed to provide financial support to recognize, reward, and encourage outstanding professional artists. The next ECRAC Fellowship deadline for artists will be March 1. Two $7,000 ECRAC-McKnight Fellowships will be awarded. There is one deadline per year for this program.
The 2012 ECRAC-McKnight Fellowships went to Abby Lingle Mott, Onamia, and Anthony Michaud-Scorza, Cambridge.
The ECRAC-McKnight Individual Artist program is a grant designed to provide financial support to artists committed to their own artistic growth. Grants are up to $1,000 in this category. The next Individual Artist deadline will be April 1. There are three deadlines per year for this program.
In addition, ECRAC Scholarships are available annually to Kindergarten through 12th grade students in the region. The kids receiving Scholarships in the past have experienced: mentorship with an artist, jazz camp, show choir camp, dance camp, theater festivals, and visual art projects. The next ECRAC Scholarship deadline is March 1. Three $500 ECRAC Scholarships for kids will be awarded.
