Kenneth C. Bellin
Kenneth Clarence Bellin was born Jan. 31, 1933 in Athens Township, Isanti County, Minnesota to Clarence and Hildur (Norin) Bellin. He attended school in Isanti and then graduated from Cambridge. After high school Kenneth went to Deadwood, S.D. to work. He later started working for his uncle Tony Olson at the Isanti Blacksmith Shop. Kenneth served his country in the Army during the Korean conflict and was stationed in Anchorage, Alaska. After the service he returned to Isanti and became a business partner with his uncle and they changed the store to Isanti Sport Shop. The shop expanded to snowmobile, boating and fishing products and services, all very strong hobbies of Kenneth.
On June 6, 1959 Kenneth married Ida Williams at Faith Lutheran Church in Isanti. They raised their family in Isanti and have lived there ever since. Kenneth was involved in racing since a very young age. He raced cars (#88 and #60) at the Princeton Speedway and also raced snowmobiles. At the snowmobile races on Long Lake Kenneth always carried the flag during the national anthem, even this past New Year’s Day. Kenneth was Grand Marshal at the Isanti Snowmobile Run and enjoyed going to any parade. He also enjoyed going to threshing shows. Kenneth also loved fishing, hunting and taking his regular trips with his wife to McDonalds.
Kenneth will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Ida; three sons, Randy Bellin of Princeton, Todd (Paula) Bellin of Circle Pines, Danny Bellin of Bradford; one daughter, Suzan (Kelly) Huseby of Hulett, Wyo.; four sisters, Delores (Paul) Westerberg of Cambridge, Harriet (Kenneth) Bostrom of Hinckley, Carol (Clarence) Anderson of Isanti, Kathy (Clifford Jr.) Theline of Pine City; sister-in-law, Arlene Bellin of Isanti; three grandchildren, Shane, Amber and Tyler; six great-grandchildren, Cody, Chase, Colter, Caylee, Daniel, and Kaley; and by many other relatives and friends. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Richard Bellin, and one grandson, Cody Huseby.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 14 at Long Lake Lutheran Church with Rev. Matt Flom officiating. A visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13 at Strike Funeral Home – Isanti Chapel and also one hour prior to the service Thursday at the church. Mary Falk will serve as soloist and Kristy Anderson as organist. Pallbearers will be Tom Englund, Walter Horcher, Kelly Huseby, Shane Huseby, Dale Matson and Mark Rojas. Interment will be in Isanti Union Cemetery with Military Honors provided by Rum River VFW Post 2735 of Isanti.
