Bomber Boys rally to defeat Rebels
Picking up a key Section 7AA seeding victory, Braham boys basketball defeated host Moose Lake-Willow River 59-53 Jan. 29.
The Bombers jumped out to a 20-12 lead before the half ended with them ahead 29-25. The athletic Rebels (11-5) moved ahead by seven points before the Bombers rallied for the win.
Zach Dahlman scored 18 points and pulled down 8 rebounds. Shaun Hollenkamp added 12 points with 8 more boards. More contributors in the victory were Chris Olson (11 points), John Larson (9 points, 5 rebounds), and Sam Stigen (6 points, 5 assists).
On Jan. 24, the Bombers improved to 9-0 in Great River games by defeating Rush City 79-56. Connor Tschumper hit 8-of-9 field goal attempts and went 9-for-9 at the line to lead with 21 points. Larson scored 19 and had 6 rebounds. Hollenkamp (15 points) and Olson (16 points) both hit 4 three-pointers each. Stigen led with 6 assists and scored 7.
On Feb. 1, the Bombers can take a big step toward another GRC title with a victory when they host Hinckley-Finlayson.

C-I Boys defeat Rogers
Cambridge-Isanti evened its Mississippi boys basketball record at 1-1 with a 72-61 win over visiting Rogers Jan. 24.
Kyle McDonald (25 points), Aaron Allen (12 points) and Nate Cox (6 points) all sank 2 three-pointers against the Royals. Hunter Vavra added 10 points. Allen led with 5 assists, and Matt Swanson pulled down 7 rebounds for the Jackets.
In a tight game throughout on Jan. 26, Chisago Lakes tipped the Jackets 61-60. McDonald (19 points) sank a ‘3’ at the halftime buzzer after an Allen steal and assist. Swanson sank another ‘3’ with :02 left, but the Wildcats protected the ball at the end. Cox (16) and Swanson (10) joined McDonald in double-digit scoring.

Jacket Hoops Booster Hall induction at Feb. 1 game
The Bluejacket Hoop Boosters will induct three members into its Hall of Fame at the Feb. 1 C-I boys game with Monticello. Bluejacket players Wade LaBatte and Mark Morrison will be honored, along with longtime scorekeeper Mike Sorn as a community inductee. The ceremony will take place between the JV and varsity games.
Braham Girls still perfect
The Bomber girls scored big in two more games to increase their season record to 18-0. On Jan. 24, Braham defeated Rush City 91-26 in GRC action, then the squad held down Duluth Denfeld 81-53 in a non-conference matchup.

CCS sweeps Hawks
The Warrior girls received 19 points from Kristin Bergman, 18 from Shelby Doble and 7 each from Jerusalem Solomon and Kellie Pedersen in a 53-43 win over Christian Life Jan. 25.
In the nightcap, the CCS boys rolled to an 85-38 win over the Hawks, holding their 23 ppg leading scorer to 11. Scoring in double figures for the Warriors were Peter Maring (18/13 rebounds), Jake Bergman (17), Anders Boyum (16), Grant Taylor (16) and Justin Roble (11).
