Synchronized Swimming offered through Dist. 911 Community Ed
Synchronized swimming is a hybrid form of swimming, dance and gymnastics consisting of swimmers performing a routine of various moves in the water, accompanied by music.
Synchro uses advanced water skills and requires strength, flexibility, artistry and timing as well as breath control when under water.
Sound like fun? Try the introductory class being held at the Cambridge-Isanti High School pool on Thursday, Jan. 24 from 6 to 8 p.m. If it’s for you, you can move on to the Synchro Camp which will be held on Thursdays in February. There you will continue to work on the basic moves, stunts and techniques learned in the intro class and you will learn a simple routine to present on the last day of camp.
Girls in grades 5 through 12 are invited to attend the intro class and the camp. Participants should be able to swim 2 lengths of the pool and tread water. Nose clips are suggested and can be purchased from the instructor on the first day. Advanced registration is encouraged.
