Youth Groups at Spirit River
Wednesday, Jan. 16: Spirit River Kid’s Klub (Grades 1-3) & 456 Fellowship (Grades 4-6) will meet at Spirit River Community Center at 5:30 p.m. Meals will be provided to all families, and a nursery will be available. Spirit River is located at 1320 Co. Rd., 5 NE, Isanti (Spectacular Events).
Free Community Dinner at Faith Lutheran
Thursday, Jan. 17: A free Community Dinner will be held at Faith Lutheran Church in Isanti from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Use the downstairs entrance. Everyone is welcome to join for a time of fellowship and a meal.
Local Photography Group Meeting

Lorraine Fischer’s 90th Birthday
Saturday, Jan. 19: Lorraine Fischer’s 90th Birthday Celebration will be held at Faith Lutheran Church, 109 2nd Ave. N, Isanti, from 2 to 5 p.m. with a program at 3 p.m. Friends and family are invited to attend.
Drawing with Conte Crayon
Saturdays, Jan. 19 & Jan. 26: In this two day workshop, the basics will be covered. Students will be using just one-two shades of conte to create a monochromatic drawing on toned paper. There will be a review the basics of drawing: values, composition and design, notan, papers/surfaces, techniques and more from instructor MaryAnn Cleary. Cleary will review the tools used, do a demonstration and then the class will practice the techniques and begin a drawing. A simple still life is available for reference for the class or if one wants to use a photograph as reference, this is permissible as long as the photo is good one (no flash, not too small, good lighting). Materials for the class will be provided. The class will be offered from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Cambridge Center for the Arts, 144 2nd Ave. SE, Cambridge. Cost is $40, members $35. Free Computer Classes
Tuesday, Jan. 22-Friday, Jan. 25: There are free computer classes held at the
Joy Lutheran Church just south of Cambridge. There are four days to choose from: Tuesday, Jan. 22, Wednesday, Jan. 23, Thursday, Jan. 24 or Friday, Jan. 25. All classes run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. To register, call Vicki at 763-689-5912. This is a beginning computer class, but will benefit people at all skill levels. Topics include computer terminology, the parts inside the computer, tips for buying one, should you buy a laptop, pros and cons of different stores, and plenty of time for questions. The instructor is Dave Larson.

Pat Schonhardt in Concert
Thursday, Jan. 24: Pat Schonhardt will be covering some old favorites from the likes of John Prine, David Bromberg and Billy Joel with his signature soulful blues with the help of his Fender guitar. This collaborative concert, through Cambridge Center for the Arts, will encourage audience members to write a word or phrase at the beginning of the show for use in creating a unique song for the second set. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased online at cambridgecenterforthearts.org or stop by 144 2nd Ave. SE, Cambridge. Concert begins at 7 p.m. at CCFA.
Isanti Community Blood Drive
