Morris Johnson photoMorris Myles Johnson, 89, of Isanti, formerly of Dalbo, Minn., died at home on January 8, 2013.

He was born July 6, 1923 in Dalbo, Minn. to Charles and Lillian Johnson. On June 18, 1948 he was united in marriage to Arlene M. Swanson at the Oxlip Free Church. He grew up in Dalbo, and attended the Dalbo country school for 8 years, graduating from the Cambridge High School in 1941. After high school Morris worked for 2 years in Minneapolis before purchasing property in Dalbo near the family farm. He farmed in Dalbo and worked for the US Postal Service as rural carrier and Postmaster in Dalbo for 30+ years. He was a member of the Springvale Baptist Church in rural Stanchfield, Minn.

Morris and Arlene enjoyed traveling, taking many trips throughout the world and visiting 49 different states. In retirement Morris moved to River Hills in Cambridge, Minn. He more recently lived in Isanti, Minn.

He was preceded in death by his wife Arlene, his parents, and brothers, Iver and Roger as well as sisters Violet Rodriguez, Hazel Olson, Goldie Olson. He is survived by sisters Gloria Nupson and Susan Brown.

He is also survived by children, Clark (Cathy) Johnson of Isanti, Nancy (Dan) Nelson of Hugo, Randy Johnson of Colorado Springs, Colo., Marcia (Rick) Kruger of Brooklyn Park, and Robin (Bill) Hull of Bloomington; grandchildren, Matt, Melody and Melissa Johnson, Jessica (Brian) Moore, Karl (Anna Battcher) Nelson, Julie (Chris) Lilley, Steve, Bob and Michelle Kruger, Brian, Katie and Alex Hull, and great-granddaughter, Elia Johnson.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 12, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Spring Vale Baptist Church with Rev. David Anderson officiating. Pallbearers were Karl Nelson, Matt Johnson, Alex Hull, Bob Kruger, Steve Kruger and Donn Olson. Cards may be sent to PO Box 367 Isanti, MN 55040. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Strike Funeral Home – Cambridge Chapel.
