Free Community Dinner
Wednesday, Jan. 9: A free Community Dinner will be offered from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Spirit River Community Center, 1320 Co. Rd. 5 NE, Isanti. All are welcome.
New Plants, Products, & Trends in the Garden
Thursday, Jan. 10: Afree presentation will be held at 7 p.m. at the Isanti County Government Center in Cambridge sponsored by the Isanti County Master Gardeners. The topic will be, “What’s new for your garden in 2013,” and the special speaker will be Kelsey Sparks with the Green Barn Garden Center. Sparks will introduce new annuals, perennials, trees, shrubs and vegetables that you will find in the garden center this year. Learn about new grafted tomatoes, hot new hostas, a thornless rose, exciting new clematis and wisteria vine varieties, and much more. In addition to plants, get a sneak peek at some new products and trends for the garden. New plant insect and disease problems and solutions will also be discussed. Matthew 25 Food Distribution
Saturday, Jan. 12: Matthew 25 Food Distribution Ministry will be offered at 9:30 a.m. at Isanti Middle School, 201 Centennial Drive. Every person, no matter the age, receives two free grocery bags of food.
Bonspiel Broasted Chicken Dinner
Saturday, Jan. 12: Cambridge American Legion Curling Bonspiel Broasted Chicken Dinner will be held from 5 p.m. until food is gone. This is open to the public. Cost is $8 per plate, and dinner will be located in the downstairs Cambridge Legion Clubrooms.
Sunday, Jan. 13: The East Central MN Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays will meet at 4:30 p.m. at Common Ground, the Cambridge United Methodist Church, at 404 North Cypress in Cambridge. Parkinson’s Support Group Meeting
Wednesday, Jan. 16: Parkinson’s Support Group will hold their regular monthly meeting from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at GracePointe Crossing, Commons Bldg., 1545 River Hills Parkway, Cambridge. Individuals with Parkinson’s Disease, their families, friends, and caregivers are invited to attend. Come and enjoy the fellowship, light refreshments, share interests, concerns, and more with others who are living with Parkinson’s.

Saturday, Jan. 19: Lorraine Fischer’s 90th Birthday Celebration will be held at Faith Lutheran Church, 109 2nd Ave. N, Isanti, from 2 to 5 p.m. with a program at 3 p.m. Friends and family are invited to attend.
Free Computer Classes
Tuesday, Jan. 22-Friday, Jan. 25: There are free computer classes held at the Joy Lutheran Church just south of Cambridge. There are four days to choose from: Tuesday, Jan. 22, Wednesday, Jan. 23, Thursday, Jan. 24 or Friday, Jan. 25. All classes run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. To register, call Vicki at 763-689-5912. This is a beginning computer class, but will benefit people at all skill levels. Topics include computer terminology, the parts inside the computer, tips for buying one, should you buy a laptop, pros and cons of different stores, and plenty of time for questions. The instructor is Dave Larson.
