Stolen Habitat for Humanity trailer recovered

On Dec. 27 at 1:20 p.m., the East Central Drug and Violent Offenders Task Force executed a search warrant on the 26300 block of Lyons Street NE in Oxford Township in Isanti County, according to the Isanti County Sheriff’s Office.

According to a press release by the Sheriff’s Department:

The Task Force had received information that a 24-foot construction trailer was at this location, and that it had been stolen from a Habitat for Humanity construction site in Grantsburg, Wis., between Dec. 15 and 19.

The trailer was recovered at the residence during the search warrant. It was reported to have been hidden behind the residence. When the trailer was stolen, it contained a large number of construction tools and only seven of them were recovered at the scene. The rest of the tools are unaccounted for at this time. Many of them had the initials “HFH” either written or inscribed on them and the public is urged to call their local authorities if any of those tools are discovered. The trailer has been returned to Habitat for Humanity.

This matter is still being investigated and there is a suspect in the case. The Task Force was assisted by the Isanti County Sheriff’s Office.
