Maxine Caroline (Anderson) Warring
She was preceded in death by her parents Almon and Emma (Nelson) Anderson and her husband Herbert F. Warring.
Maxine was born June 19, 1923 in Minneapolis, and grew up in Athens Township and graduated from St. Francis High School as class valedictorian. After high school she completed a two-year teaching program at what was then St. Cloud Normal School for Teachers in 1943. She began teaching and one of the proudest moments of her life came after taking additional courses nights and weekends and was the completion of her Bachelor’s Degree from St. Cloud State University in 1974. Over the course of her career she taught in Grasston, St. Francis, and had a long and successful career as an elementary teacher in the North Branch schools before she retired.
Maxine married Herbert Warring March 28, 1945 and together they raised five children. She is survived by their five children: Michael Warring of Isanti, Douglas Warring of Mounds View, Gerald and Jody Warring of Cambridge, Kathleen and Robert Lindell of Isanti, and Charles and Kari Warring of Sauk Centre. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 14 great grand children.
Maxine was a member of Elim Baptist Church in Isanti, Minn. and was active on numerous committees and in several groups at the church where she also taught Sunday School. She was also a local 4-H leader and member of the local homemakers group. In addition to teaching she enjoyed watching her children in their activities, gardening, bowling, baking cookies for her grandchildren, and visiting with friends. After her retirement from teaching she and her husband enjoyed time in Florida each winter until he died.
The family wishes to thank the staff at the Villages and the St. Croix Hospice team and volunteers for their care, concern, and support. The family also wishes to thank Funeral Strike Funeral Home for all of their assistance.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5 at Elim Baptist Church in Isanti with Pastor Ryan O’Leary officiating. A time for visiting will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
