Curtis Hauge Sr., 71, of Little Falls, Minn., formerly of Blaine, Minn., passed away Thursday, Dec. 27. at St. Otto’s Care Center in Little Falls, Minn. A memorial mass will be held on Friday, Jan. 4, at 12:30 p.m. at the Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls, Minn. Burial will be at 3 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 4, at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery north of Little Falls, Minn. Friends may gather from 11:30 a.m. until the hour of service at Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls, Minn.
Curtis Hauge Sr, was born April 27, 1941 in Fergus Falls, Minn., to the late LeRoy and Gladys (Shelly) Hauge. The family moved to St. Paul, Minn., where he grew up and attended school. He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1958 and was honorably discharged in 1962. Curtis returned to St. Paul, Minn., and worked for Milwaukee Road, Soo Line and CP Rail, as a car inspector for the rail road for 32 years. He retired on Jan. 24, 2002. Curtis was united in marriage to Rosina “Rosie” Tafalla on April 24, 1982 in Minneapolis. The couple made their home in Isanti, Minn., Fridley, Minn., and Blaine, Minn., until moving to Little Falls, Minn. in 2009. The couple belonged to the Isanti Alano Club for 29 years. Curtis enjoyed traveling, playing horse shoes, gardening and tending his lawn. Curtis treasured his time spent with his family and friends.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Rosina “Rosie” Hauge of Little Falls, Minn.; children, Curt Jr. (Lorinda) Hauge of Cambridge, Minn., Tom (Terri) Hauge of Champlin, Minn., Char (Mike) Tschida of Kimball, Minn., Ron Christensen Jr. of Little Falls, Minn., Rhonda Christensen of Little Falls, Minn., Randy (Tammy) Christensen of New Brighton, Minn.; 10 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson; brother, Larry (Peggy) Mellum of Hudson, WI; sister, Dede (Ed) Parsons Isanti, Minn.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Gladys (Hauge) Mellum; father, LeRoy Hauge; step-father, Arnold Mellum and a sister, Gwen Hauge.
