Great activities on the winter itinerary

We have two great day trips on our winter itinerary. The first is Thursday, Jan. 17 when we travel to the Old Log Theater in Plymouth.

Enjoy a day of food, friends and fun at a theater that combines rustic charm, a serene setting, excellent food and outstanding performances.

“A Perfect Wedding” is a brand new show that combines delirious comedy with a touching love story. The Star Tribune describes the show as “a comic treasure which elicits good old-fashioned belly laughs.” In addition to a great meal and performance, a back-stage tour is scheduled immediately following the show.

Next, on Wednesday, Feb. 13, we have reserved seating at the Plymouth Playhouse for the musical, “Ring of Fire, The Music of Johnny Cash.”

Simply put, this is two hours of great country music and a loving tribute to the man who wrote and performed some of the best that’s ever been recorded. Although Cash is never impersonated, Ring of Fire’s train ride takes us on a musical journey through the life, times and tunes of the legend that is Johnny Cash.

Other day trip offerings include the Broadway smash “Mary Poppins” at the Orpheum in April and “Joseph & the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at the Chanhassen Theater in May.  Our extended travel for 2013 includes the Canadian Rockies in July and the southern California coast in September.
