Bluejacket girls skate at New Prague Tourney

The Cambridge-Isanti-Mora-Pine City girls hockey squad is still searching for its first win of the season after competing in last weekend’s New Prague Holiday Tourney.

The Bluejackets fell to Mississippi 8 partner Rogers 3-0 in the Nov. 23 opener. The Royals netted two goals in the second period and added a solo goal in the third. CIMPC’s Jessi Benson had 33 saves.

The 3rd-place game saw the host Trojans take a 6-1 win over the Jackets on Saturday. Madison Oelkers got the Jackets’ goal in the second period, and Benson finished with 34 saves.

Back on Nov. 20, the Bluejackets fell to host Orono 8-1. CIMPC’s Kylie Guimont made it 2-1 with her goal in the first period. Benson and Paige Anfinson combined for 23 saves.

The Bluejackets get back to the home ice for non-conference games against North Metro Nov. 29 and Willmar Dec. 1.
