CIHS clothing drive collects over 1,000 articles of clothing

Cambridge-Isanti High School students in Mrs. Andrea Bertz’s Monogramming Enterprise class run the school store, The Blue Harbor. It’s with this enterprise they were able to successfully launch a clothing drive. They wanted to give back to the community and with winter around the corner, what better way to do that than with a clothing drive? So the decision was made. With the help of the entire student body—staff included—they collected 1,019 articles of clothing to donate to the Shalom Shop! Not everybody can have nice, warm clothing, so there’s a certain satisfaction in knowing they helped make someone’s life a little easier. The clothing drive ran for approximately two weeks, at the end of October to early November. The Shalom Shop was very thankful for the donations because it will help keep the families in the Cambridge-Isanti area warm during the winter months. Photo submitted
