COMMUNITY SPORTS: The Minnesota Owls of the MNJHL return to their home ice with a pair of games this Friday, Nov. 16 and Saturday, Nov. 17. This Friday they take to the ice against the Hudson Crusaders which also marks the Owls’ first “Youth Night” of the season where any youth 12- under gets in free when they are wearing their favorite hockey jersey. Saturday night, the Maple Grove Energy come to town in a crucial game as the Owls try to make up ground on the Energy. Both games are at the David C. Johnson Arena in Isanti; game times are 7:30 p.m.
C-I Hoops Hall of Fame nominations
The Jacket Hoop Boosters are accepting nominations for the Bluejacket Basketball Hall of Fame. If you would like to nominate a player, coach or community member who has contributed to Bluejacket Basketball, please send nominations to email@example.com. The deadline for nominations is Friday, Dec. 7.
Braham Warriors Youth Wrestling registration
The Braham Warriors youth wrestling club for Grades K – 6 will hold registrations and practices on Monday, Dec. 3 and Thursday, Dec. 6. Sessions run 6:30 – 8 p.m. in the Braham High wrestling room. Fees: $15 which includes Warrior T-shirt. For more information, contact Deb Shockman at 320-396-3984.
C-I Saturday Boys Basketball
Every year, the Jacket Hoop Boosters and the Cambridge-Isanti High School boys basketball program sponsor an in-house basketball program for boys in Grades K – 6.
This program is directed by Bluejacket head boys basketball coach Mike McDonald and assistants Bill Baumann, Jeff Salo and Jim Lutterman. Current high school players also assist with basketball skills and refereeing game play.
Saturday Basketball begins Saturday, Nov. 17 at the Cambridge Primary School Gym with the following session times– Grades K – 1: 9 – 10 a.m.; Grades 2 – 3: 10 – 11 a.m.; Grades 4 – 6: 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Registration forms have been distributed at the schools; you may also register at the first session. Fees: Grades K-3 $45; Grades 4-6 $50 (includes Bluejacket Basketball T-shirt). For any questions about this program, call Coach McDonald at CIHS at 763-689-6481.
