Catching up on more playoff action, the Braham cross country teams wrapped up their season with the girls placing 15th and the boys taking 20th at the Section 5A meet hosted in Pierz.
The Bomber girls were led by Rachel Eskuri running a 17:12 over the 4K course for 45th place and Jessica Westman taking 89th with her 18:17 run.
The Braham boys were paced once again by Thomas Warner who placed 49th at 18:21 in the 5K and Logan Leavey cruising to a 19:58 finish.
The Annandale girls tipped Spectrum to win the 5A team title. The St. Cloud Cathedral boys crushed the competition to defend their 5A title, with Mora placing 2nd.
At the Nov. 3 State meet at St. Olaf College, the Annandale girls and Cathedral boys both finished as runners-up. The Spectrum girls were 13th and Mora boys finished 14th.
Bomber team awards
Thomas Warner cleaned up with three Braham team awards this season: Most Valuable boy runner, Most Improved and Most Dedicated. Cody Anderson also was co-Most Improved, Connor TenNapel was co-Most Dedicated, and Logan Leavey was Rookie of the Year.
Eskuri was voted the Most Valuable girls runner for the Bombers. Jessica Westman was Most Dedicated, Cassie Anderson was Most Improved, and Amanda Otto was Rookie of the Year.

Class AA State
The Forest Lake girls out of Cambridge-Isanti’s Section 7AA finished in 4th place at the Class AA Finals at St. Olaf on Saturday. The Elk River girls were 16th.
The Chisago Lakes boys ended up 13th and Elk River was 14th in their half of the State meet.
Football playoff notes
Bemidji, the team which defeated Cambridge-Isanti in the semifinals, went on to hold off Chisago Lakes 31-29 in the Nov. 2 championship game of the new-look Section 7AAAAA.
The Lumberjacks (8-3) face Moorhead (10-0) in the Class 5A quarterfinals Saturday, Nov. 10 at St. Cloud State (6 p.m. start).
Moose Lake-Willow River reached State for the seventh straight season out of Braham’s Section 7AA by hammering Duluth Marshall 40-7 in the Nov. 1 championship. Marshall was the team which defeated the Bombers in the section semis.
The Rebels (11-0), last year’s Class AA runners-up, open State against Hawley (11-0) Friday, Nov. 9 at St. Cloud State (8 p.m.).
