Lillian A. Zvanovec

Lillian A. Zvanovec, 69, of Cambridge died October 23, 2012 at home.

Lillian Ann Zvanovec was born Dec. 14, 1942 in Veseli, Minn. to George and Emma (Pinc) Trnka. She attended grade school in Veseli and then New Prague High School, graduating in 1960. Lillian began working at First National Bank of New Prague.  On Oct. 17, 1964 she was married to John Zvanovec in Veseli. In 1969 they moved to Cambridge.  Lillian babysat for a time before going to work as a teller and as a loan secretary at People’s Bank of Commerce in Cambridge. She devoted 28 years of work to the bank and retired in 2005.

Lillian enjoyed camping, needlework, going to the casino, using her Kindle Fire and especially shopping. She greatly enjoyed going to garage sales and thrift stores with her daughter. Thanksgiving traditions included the girls getting up early to shop while the boys watched football. She also enjoyed playing Farkel and especially liked beating her son-in-law at that game. Lillian volunteered at Shalom Shop in Cambridge and she was also a member of the Cambridge American Legion Auxiliary.

Lillian will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 48 years, John; one daughter, Kimberly (David) Antonovich of Eden Prairie; three brothers, Joseph (Sandy) Trnka of Cottage Grove, John (Barbara) Trnka of Rosemount, George (Katy) Trnka of Montgomery; one granddaughter, Brittany; and by many other relatives and friends.  Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Bradley, and sister, Irene Stepka.

Memorial services were held Saturday, October 27, 2012 at Strike Funeral Home – Cambridge Chapel with Deacon Gene Kramer officiating.
