Viola Hulda Reichel was born in Bodum on Aug. 20, 1909 to Daniel and Erika (Nystrom) Lindell. She was raised in the Isanti area and attended country school. Viola married Adolph Reichel on Sept. 24, 1926. They made their home in several locations in Isanti County. In 1949 they moved to Cambridge. Her husband, Adolph, died in 1979 and Viola continued to live in Cambridge until 1998. She then lived at the “Farmstead” in Andover for nine years. Viola then became a resident of Park River Estates Care Center where she would live her last five years. Viola was a member of North Isanti Baptist Church in her younger years and later at First Baptist Church in Cambridge. She enjoyed cooking and serving coffee to all. Viola also did handwork, crocheting, knitting and quilting.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Adolph; three sons, Lloyd, Larry and Lowell; two infant children, Clarice and Loren; two grandsons, Loren and Terry. Viola is survived by one daughter, Janice (Vernon) Lindquist of Brooklyn Park; one son, Gene (Barbara) Reichel of Coon Rapids; 17 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Betty Reichel of Crawfordsville, Indiana; and by many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 22, 2012 at North Isanti Baptist Church with Rev. Adrian Sundberg officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday, Oct. 21 from 3 to 7 p.m. at Strike Funeral Home – Isanti Chapel. Music will be provided by Mary Falk and Darlene Fixell. Pallbearers are Loran Lindell, Joe Nord, Jeff Oestreich, James Reichel, John Reichel and Steve Stepp. Interment will be in North Isanti Baptist Cemetery.
