A feast for the eyes. From painting to sculpture to photography to poetry/prose, the Kanabec County Art Association (KCAA) invites the public to visit the 26th annual IMAGE Art Show the weekend of Oct. 19-21.
This Art Show features work by 167 artists from the counties of Kanabec, Mille Lacs, Isanti, Pine and Chisago and will be held at the Ogilive High School Commons in Ogilvie.
IMAGE is a celebration of art and artists in the East Central Region area of Minnesota. This year the art show is hosted by KCAA as part of their celebration of 50 years of supporting art in the Kanabec County area. This makes it one of the oldest art organizations.
The show is open to the public on Friday, Oct. 19 from 6 to 9 p.m. An opening reception, including the presentation of artist awards, will take place at 7 p.m. Background music, before and after the awards ceremony, will be provided by “One for Daddy O.”
Ogilvie High School music students will greet visitors as they enter the show. A performance art, designed specifically for this event, will take place at approximately 6:45 p.m.
On Saturday, Oct. 20, the show is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Background music will be provided by Paul Morris. On Sunday, the show is open to the public from noon to 4 p.m. A video, “What Inspires Artists” will be shown at 1 p.m. A grant writing workshop will take place at 2 p.m.
