Thursday, Oct. 11: The Isanti County Master Gardeners is sponsoring a free presentation, “Common Mistakes Gardeners Make and How to Avoid Them,” at 7 p.m. at the Isanti County Government Center in Cambridge. The presentation will be led by Meleah Maynard, nationally recognized journalist and master gardener.

Passenger Train Passing Through Town
Saturday, Oct. 13: The community can expect a colorful vintage passenger train twice through the Cambridge community. Although the train has been up to 90 minutes late, the two-block passenger train can be enjoyed northbound at 9:55 a.m. and southbound at 4 p.m.
Matthew 25 Food Ministry
Saturday, Oct. 13: Matthew 25 Food Ministry will be held at the Isanti Middle School. Distribution of food begins at 9:30 a.m. Every person, no matter the age, receives two grocery bags of food. Isanti VFW BOOYA
Saturday, Oct. 13: Isanti VFW #2735 will host a BOOYA! from noon until its gone. Cost is $5 for all you can eat. Isanti VFW is located at 410 Railroad Ave. S. and can be reached at 763-444-9787. Proceeds are being used toward purchasing new Color Guard Uniforms for their members to wear when they are performing their duties at funerals and other community functions.

Pancake Breakfast to Benefit Li’l Farm
Sunday, Oct. 14: When the Cambridge Knights of Columbus puts on their Pancake Breakfast that will benefit the Li’l Farm Children’s Home, from 8 a.m. to noon, there will be a couple of special items in the silent auction. A person has donated a plow, valued at $3,000, that will go on the front end of a pickup for the Li‘l Farm silent auction. Also, among many other items, will be a child’s electric fire truck that is valued at $170. Besides enjoying breakfast (Adults $6; Children 6-12, $3; 5 and under free), the public is invited to bid on many treasures in the silent auction.
Blessing of the Animals
Sunday, Oct. 14: The Isanti County Humane Society is hosting a Blessing of the Animals Ceremony in honor of the Feast of St. Francis at noon at Christ the King Catholic Church in Cambridge, 230 N. Fern St. You are invited to bring your pets. All animals must be under control of the owner and safe to be around. If you are unable to bring your animal, an article representing them can be blessed on their behalf. Bring an unopened small bag or can of animal food for the local food shelf.
Friends of Grass Lake Church Meeting
Wednesday, Oct. 17: The Friends of the Grass Lake Church will meet at 4:30 p.m. in the Coin school on the History Center grounds. All persons interested in the restoration of this building are invited to attend.
Parkinson’s Support Group
Wednesday, Oct. 17: Parkinson’s Support Group will hold their regular monthly meeting from 10 to 11:30 a.m., at Grace Pointe Crossing, Commons Bldg., 1545 River Hills Parkway, Cambridge. Cheryl Braddock will present, “Dance From Your Chair,” which features enjoyable dance movements with elements of Ballet, Jazz, and Tap that can be done in a seated position. Individuals with Parkinson’s Disease, their families, friends and caregivers are invited to attend.
