He was born Sept. 17, 1951 in Braham hospital, which is now the Elms Apartments. He grew up in Stanchfield, working hard on the family farm. He attended Maple Ridge Evan. Free Church where he went to Sunday school, was baptized and confirmed. Dallas, his brother Craig and his sister Cheryl, loved to ride bike around the neighborhood with Audrey Larson, Linda Hollis and Glen Carlson. He graduated from Braham High School in 1969. His loves included farming (Allis Chalmers tractors always), spoiling his dog, Lillea, and Mandi’s four pygmy goats, Ginger, Linus, Lucy and Charlie (his pet name was Petie for Charlie). He loved visiting and drinking coffee with family and friends. His family was very much in his heart and he had to know where they were at all times, using his cell phone a lot.
He married Jan (Janet Lindgren) on Oct. 12, 1974 at Stanchfield Baptist Church. We lived just north of the church renting a home until we built our home on the family farm in 1975/1976. We were blessed with a son, Adam Dallas, on Jan. 17, 1978. Dallas was working on the family farm until his mother sold the machinery and animals and moved into Braham. We moved to St. Boni where he worked on the farm for Haward and Evelyn Wendt. We were there only a short three months when Dallas cracked his fourth lumbar lifting a barn cleaner. We moved back to our house in Stanchfield and he found a job hauling milk for MidAmerica through Tim Peterson. We were blessed again with a little girl, Mandi Jan, born July 6, 1979. That August, Dallas was in the Cambridge hospital because of his cracked lumbar. In September he applied for a job at Isanti Ready Mix working for Dave and Jerry Laase as a cement truck driver and the rest is history. He worked there for 33 years, 11 months. Jerry and Dallas were going to retire together and never have to work again.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Ethel (Leaf) Sundermeyer, parents-in-law Clayton and Marjorie (Thunstrom) Lindgren and nephew Patrick Lindgren.
He is survived by his wife, Jan (Lindgren), his children, Adam, Crystal and Mandi, his grandchildren, Alayna, Matthew, Brinly, Daelynn Sundermeyer and Paige Pass, his brother, Craig Sundermeyer and wife Sandy of Stanchfield, his sister Cheryl Leaf and husband Dean of Prior Lake, his nephews, Ray Sundermeyer, Chad Leaf, Peter Leaf, Todd Lindgren, Brandt Lindgren, his nieces, Cara Lindgren, Jenni Davis, Nancy (Davis) Kavanagh, Chelley (Sundermeyer) VanOrsdahl, Bridget (Sundermeyer) Yotter, their spouses and children, his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Dave and Julie (Lindgren) Davis, Gary and Cheryl Lindgren, Steve and Mary Lindgren, step-mother-in-law Lois Lindgren, great nephews and nieces, cousins, other relatives and many friends. He was loved by his family and his friends and is and will always be missed terribly.
