Knitting Group

Thursday, Oct. 4: Join for knitting, crochet, spinning, quilting or the craft of your choice. The group meets every Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at Rendezvous Coffee Shop in Isanti. Come and learn to knit. All are welcome.

Free Community Dinner & Bread Distribution

Thursday, Oct. 4: A free community dinner and bread distribution hosted by Cambridge UPC Church will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at 210 10th Ave. SW in Cambridge. Questions? Call Pastor David L. Spaghetti Dinner at Long Lake Lutheran

Friday, Oct. 5: Long Lake Lutheran Church (Hwy. 47 and 277th Ave., Isanti) will be holding a Spaghetti Dinner from 4-7 p.m. Adults: $5. Ages 6-12: $3. Under 6: free. Includes spaghetti, garlic bread, dessert and beverage for one low price.

Saturday, Oct. 6: Garage Guys  will be held at Spirit River Community Church   beginning at 8 a.m. Spirit River is located at 1320 Co. Rd. 5 NE, Isanti.

David Koblish in Concert

Sunday, Oct. 7: David Koblish, soloist and recording artist from Minneapolis, will be in concert at the North Isanti Baptist Church at 7 p.m. The church is located at 2248 313th Ave. NE, Cambridge, and can be reached at 763-689-3576. There will be a free will offering and refreshments will be served after the concert.

Isanti County Public Health meeting

Monday, Oct. 8: The Isanti County Public Health Commission will be meeting at 5:30 p.m. in the Public Health office on the lower level of the Isanti County Government Center, 555 18th Avenue SW in Cambridge. Call Isanti County Public Health at 763-689-4071 if you would like to attend the meeting.

“Crock Pot Meals” Demonstration

Wednesday, Oct. 10: Darla Wessels, Director of Culinary Services at GracePointe Crossing will do a “Crock Pot Meals” cooking demonstration at 1 p.m. at Sac’s on Third (Senior Activity Center) 332 3rd Ave. NW, Cambridge. Elim Church Hymn Sing Oct. 11

On Thursday, Oct. 11, the Live Embers senior group at Elim Baptist Church in Isanti will be hosting a Hymn Sing at 1:30 p.m. in the sanctuary.

Isanti County Self Advocacy Fall Fun Dance

Friday, Oct. 12: An Isanti County Self Advocacy Fall Fun Dance will be held at United Methodist Church, 404 N. Cypress St., Cambridge. Dinner is from 5:30-6:30 p.m. that includes pizza, chips and dessert. Dance is from 6:30-8:30 p.m. $5 admission for self-advocates and receive $1 off if you bring a can good for the local food shelf. $3 admission for staff and family. Dress up in a costume and be eligible to win a prize. The money will be used to help self-advocates with upcoming events and disability right trainings. Saturday, Oct. 13: Isanti VFW #2735 will host a BOOYA! from noon until its gone. Cost is $5 for all you can eat. Isanti VFW is located at 410 Railroad Ave. S. and can be reached at 763-444-9787. Proceeds are being used toward purchasing new Color Guard Uniforms for their members to wear when they are performing their duties at funerals and other community functions.

Hayride 4 Food Drive

Sunday, Oct. 14: The 3rd annual Free Hayride 4 Food Drive will be held at Bloomgren Farms, 2675 337th Ave. NE, Cambridge (north of Cub Foods), the same location as last year. All proceeds benefit the Cambridge Food Pantry. Bring a non-perishable food item or cash donation for the hayride. Hayride runs from 1-5 p.m.; and petting zoo and face painting from 1-4 p.m. Music by Jim Donahue. Hot apple cider, cookies and bars will be served.
