On Nov. 6, we will go to the polls to vote on a constitutional amendment which, if approved, will prohibit the freedom of some Minnesotans to marry. The GLBT community needs support from the straight community and our allies. We are asking you to stand with us and Vote No on the marriage amendment. This amendment is a fundamental threat to freedom. Our nation was founded on the principle that all citizens should have the same opportunities and freedoms.
Voting No on the amendment does not require any religion to marry same-sex couples. The choice remains with each religion. Marriage is about love, commitment and responsibility.
On Sept. 29, 2012 a play by Randy Beard ‘Families Valued’ will be presented at the Isanti Community Center in Isanti from 2 to 4 p.m. A facilitated discussion will follow, (with Anita Hill, Denny Smith, and Randy Beard). This event will present an opportunity for all to hear from those most impacted by this historic vote. This is free and open to the public.
Love is love, Family is family, Love belongs to everyone. Give hope to our gay youth. Be careful how you vote, it might hurt someone you love. I am a Vietnam Vet—I served to preserve the rights and freedoms for all people, not some or most, but all. We need your help. I am asking you to do the right thing. Please Vote No on the marriage amendment. Thank you.
