Sanbrook Golf end-of-season awards

The Sanbrook GC 2012 leagues recently wrapped up play. The season concluded with the Men’s Club Championship Thursday, Sept. 10, with Nathan Fuhol winning the Club Champion again (27-hole score of 1-over par). The Club Net Champion was Tyson Betterman.

Monday Senior Men’s League Team champions were Ken Blosberg & Bruce Jernell; the individual champ was Dean Wilson. Wednesday Knights of Columbus League Team champions were Greg Oxendale & Brent Curtis. Thursday Men’s League champions were Team Champions Mike White & Ed White; individual champ was Tony Stewart.

Bluejacket 5K & 1-mile Run/Walk Oct. 13

The first-time Bluejacket 5K and 1-mile Run/Walk will be held Saturday, Oct. 13 (9 a.m. start) at the Isanti Intermediate School/SFAS (101 9th Ave. on east side of Isanti). C-I Girls Travel Basketball tryouts

Tryouts for Cambridge-Isanti Girls Travel Basketball will be held on Saturday, Oct. 6 at the Cambridge-Isanti High School gym. Tryout sessions are: Grades 7-8 9-10:30 a.m. and Grades 4-6 11-12:30 p.m. Sponsored by the Jacket Hoop Boosters, teams will participate in the Great Northwest Basketball League and various metro tournaments for the 2012-13 season. Each travel team will participate in approximately 5-7 weekend tournaments, as well as practice during the week. C-I Boys Travel Basketball tryouts

Tryouts for Cambridge-Isanti Boys Travel Basketball will be held on Saturday, Sept. 29 at the Cambridge-Isanti High School gym. Tryout sessions are: Grades 7-8 1-3 p.m. and Grades 3-6 3-5 p.m. Sponsored by the Jacket Hoop Boosters, teams play 20-30 games in weekend tournaments held in Cambridge-Isanti, Great Northwest League and the metro area. Breast Cancer Awareness Ride

The Cambridge Cycling Club will host its annual Breast Cancer Awareness Ride on Saturday, Oct. 13. The ride through the city trails and country roads gets underway at 10 a.m. from the Outdoor Edge sports shop located at 115 S. Adam Street in downtown Cambridge.

A $600 bicycle will be among items raffled off as the club aims to again be in the top-10 in the nation for fundraising breast cancer research for the national event. Registration forms can be found by logging on to active.com and typing in “cambridge breast cancer ride.”
