C-I Volleyball defeats Royals

The  Bluejacket volleyball team finished off the first rotatain of the Mississippi 8 schedule with a victory in four games over visiting Rogers Sept. 20: 25-15, 27-29, 25-18, 25-13.

Kylie Baas set the table with 41 assists against the Royals, and Alexis Landherr and Claire Sheehan led with 18 and 12 kills.

“This was a great win for us.  We are now 2-3 in the conference,” noted C-I Coach Vicki Courts. “We will face each team one more time, and our goal is to finish with a 5-0 run in the Mississippi 8.”

• In the tight 3-0 loss to St. Michael-Albertville on Sept. 18, the Bluejackets were paced by 15 kills from Landherr and 20 digs from Korbyn Felde.

The Jackets get a look at Section 7AAA foes when they travel to the Duluth East Invite this Saturday, then host Chisago Lakes Oct. 1.
