The People First annual English High Tea is a favorite. Again this year on Thursday, Dec. 6, at 1 p.m. at the Cambridge Lutheran Church, we will enjoy a lavish four-course meal catered by Sandy Abraham.

I am very excited to tell you that Joan Steffend will be our guest speaker for the afternoon. Born and raised in Cambridge, Joan says the seeds of her career were sown in the first grade, when she appeared on stage as a light bulb in the school pageant. Eventually Joan began producing and anchoring the news in Duluth and later in the Twin Cities where her work won an Emmy and other industry awards. In 1997 she became the host of TV’s Decorating Cents series and other special programming.

Joan has also authored a couple of delightful books. Her first release entitled “… and she sparkled” shares a timeless and universal story of rediscovering who you are and the joy that’s possible when you recognize you were always magnificent. Her most recent release is a delightful book called, “Peace In Peace Out” and encourages us to find peace inside ourselves and look for ways to show peace to others. The second half of the book is a journal for you to write your own personal reflections, ideas and dreams.

Join us for an afternoon of great food, friendship and encouragement as we share together the beginning of our wonderful Christmas season. Space is filling rapidly, so call me today at Peoples Bank of Commerce at 763-689-1926.
