East Central MN PFLAG (Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays) are hosting an event Saturday, Sept. 29, from 2 to 4 p.m., at the Isanti Community Center.
Featured will be a live theatre production of “Families Valued,” a short, 45-minute play which gives audiences a glimpse into the lives of gay and lesbian couples—from the range of their ordinary domesticity to the unfair discrimination they have to endure. The director is William Randall Beard, a nationally recognized playwright.
Following the performance, a facilitated discussion on the Minnesota Marriage Amendment will take place. This is the opportunity to become a more educated voter prior to heading to the polls on Nov. 6 when all of us will vote on a constitutional amendment which, if approved, will prohibit the freedom of many Minnesotans to marry.
This event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be provided. The Isanti Community Center is located at 121 Norelius St. in Isanti. Visit www.ecmnpflag.org, email firstname.lastname@example.org, or call 320-272-0069 for more information.
