Red Cross Blood Drive a success

Dear Editor:

The need for blood is constant. Every day, patients in our community are helped by donors who give at blood drives coordinated by volunteers. A Cambridge Community Red Cross Blood Drive was held at Cambridge Lutheran Church Thursday, Sept. 6 where 108 productive units of blood were collected which was very close to our goal of 110. Thank you to all donors. You do make a difference in the lives of others.

Previous donors were called by volunteers: Ruth Becklin, Becky Carlson, Laurie Hoheisel, Candy Koepp, Nancy Koczur, Marilyn Nold, Arlene Ringer, Sonja Thiry, Karen Muhlhauser, Janet Greer, Jody Dobe, Mary Jo Lahr and Mindy Peterson. Volunteers at the blood drive included Nancy Rooney, Linda Seaberg, Laurie Hoheisel, Barb Guetschoff, Maureen Ryan, Pat Hanson, Jeanne Watson, Norma Larson, Susan Olson, Lynette Anderson, Ev Flanagan, Carol Klingberg, Marlys Botten, Barb Nuorala and Marvin Nuorala.

A special thank you to the Cambridge Lutheran Church members who donated delicious baked goodies for the canteen area.  Local businesses and churches publicized the blood drive by posting posters or publishing information regarding the upcoming blood drive.

It takes much time and effort to manage a successful blood drive and your efforts don’t go unnoticed.

The next Cambridge Community Red Cross Blood Drives will be held Thursday, Jan. 3, from 1 to 7 p.m. and Friday, Jan. 4, from 8 am to 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church-Multipurpose Room, 304 South Main, Cambridge.
