Harbor Room offers gentle yoga instruction

The Harbor Room Cancer Resource Center at Cambridge Medical Center will offer a free five-week series of gentle yoga instruction titled “Breathe, Stretch, Relax.”

The class will start on Wednesday, Oct. 3 and will be held on Wednesdays through October 31 (five sessions).  The class will start at 9 a.m. and end at 10 a.m. The class will be held at WillowBridge Center in Cambridge.

WillowBridge Center/Haven DayCenter for Seniors/Total Wellness Coaching is generously donating the space for the class and the instructor, Amy Jensen, is donating her time.

Breathe, Stretch, Relax is for all levels of students. The class will begin with a 10-15 minute centering practice which will allow the student to slow down and prepare for the rest of the class. The middle of the class will consist of gentle stretching with an emphasis on using the breath as a guide. The last 15 minutes of class will be a restorative practice that will allow the body and mind to become quiet and to focus on healing.

There are a limited number of yoga mats, blocks and straps provided by the instructor.  They will be available on first come basis depending on when you call to enroll for the class.

Anyone affected by cancer is invited to attend. That includes those who have or have had cancer as well as family members or friends who are supporting someone with cancer. Class size is limited so call early to register.

To register or for more information, contact Bonnie at the Harbor Room at 763-688-8415. Do not contact Willowbridge Center to sign up.
