Anderson County Park Fall Celebration
Saturday, Sept. 15: The public is invited to a fall event celebrating National Public Lands Day at the Anderson County Park Fall Celebration. 9-10:30 a.m. Volunteer Work on the Playground; 11 a.m.-noon. Mens Garage Sale
Saturday, Sept. 15: A Garage Sale featuring men’s items only will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the First Baptist Church south parking lot, 370 S. Main St., Cambridge. All proceeds go to the Men’s Ministry of New Hope Community Church for scholarships to the Men’s Retreat this winter. Radio Personality Jon Engen To Visit Church
Sunday, Sept. 16: Radio Personality Jon Engen from BOB FM & SPIRIT 95.9, will be coming to New Beginnings Community Church at 10 a.m. There will be free lunch and games following the service. The entire community is invited. NBCC is located behind Perkins off of Hwy. 95 in Cambridge.
Cambridge Surplus Food Distribution
Tuesday, Sept. 18: Food distribution is the third Tuesday of the month from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Isanti County Fairgrounds. Food will be distributed to one person only per address. You must bring an ID with your current address on it. If you do not have an ID with your current address, you must bring two pieces of mail addressed to you with your current address.
Parkinson’s Support Group
Wednesday, Sept. 19: Parkinson’s Support Group will hold their regular monthly meeting from 10-11:30 a.m., at Grace Pointe Crossing, Commons Bldg., 1545 River Hills Parkway, Cambridge. Representative from Allina Medical Equipment will be present to inform us of items available to aid us in every day living. Individuals with Parkinson’s Disease, their families, friends, and caregivers are invited to attend.
Isanti County Boosters Meeting
Wednesday, Sept. 19: The Isanti County Boosters of the Seven County Senior Federation will meet at SAC’s on Third, 332 3rd Ave. NW, in Cambridge, at 12:30 p.m. Members are welcome, as well as new members.
Free Computer Class
Sept. 20-21: There will be a free computer class held at the Joy Lutheran Church just south of Cambridge. To register call Vicki at 763-689-5912. The class will be held Sept. 20 and Sept. 21 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. This is a beginning computer class, but will benefit people at all skill levels. The instructor is Dave Larson.
CHS Class of 1962 Reunion
Sept. 21-22: Class members and faculty from Cambridge High School class of 1962 will gather for a 50th year reunion Sept. 21-22. The group will attend the Homecoming game at the high school Friday night and get together for a celebratory breakfast Saturday morning at Cambridge Middle School. Annual Fundraiser Auction
Saturday, Sept. 22: The DFL (Democrat Farm Labor) Senate Districts 31 and 32 are holding their annual fundraiser auction and Smorgasbord at the Cambridge Catholic Church Parish Hall (305 N. Step into Africa Exhibit
Sept. 22-30: The Step into Africa interactive exhibit will be coming to the Isanti County Fairgrounds in Cambridge Sept. 22-30. Free admission. Princess Zulu of Zambia comes to Cambridge
Sept. 22-23: “Having lost both parents, a sister, and a brother to the AIDS pandemic, Princess Kasune Zulu of Zambia knows all too well the heartbreak of the disease. But even a personal diagnosis of HIV has not dampened her passion to fight HIV/AIDS and become a voice for those “whose voice cannot be heard.” Princess will share her inspiring message at The Gathering Place (145 2nd Ave. SE, Cambridge) on Saturday, Sept. 22 at 7:30 p.m. and Cambridge First Baptist Church (304 Main St. So., Cambridge) on Sunday, Sept. 23 at 9:45 a.m. Princess will be available for a short meet and greet following each appearance.
