Vergil Herbert Dahl
Vergil was born in Isanti, Minn. and grew up on a farm in Athens Township. He graduated from Cambridge High School in 1949 and moved to Minneapolis. In 1952 was drafted to serve in the Army during the Korean War. Vergil was discharged in 1954 as a Corporal E4 AUS.
In 1957 Vergil married Sally Lundquist and they had two children, Kimberly and Kevin. They would eventually move up to Isanti and then to Cambridge where he lived for many years in a home on Skogman Lake. Vergil worked for Adolfson and Peterson Construction Company for over 30 years before retiring at age 62.
Throughout his life Vergil enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing softball, curling, and dancing. He always enjoyed visiting with his many friends and supporting his children and grandchildren whenever he could. He will truly be missed by many who loved him!
Vergil is survived by daughter Kimberly Schmidt of Eagan; son Kevin Dahl and wife Janie of Andover; granddaughter Lydia (Schmidt) and husband Derek Hoffman of Edina; sister Verlyn Berg and husband Duane of North Branch; former wife Sally Dahl of Cambridge; nieces, cousins, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert Dahl and Agnes (Hedin) Dahl; and step-mothers, Martha (Callin) Dahl and Rosie (Hanson) Dahl.
Vergil will be laid to rest at Fridsborg Cemetery in East Bethel, close to his mother, father, and other family members.
