City Center Market will hold their 5th Annual Art Festival on Saturday, Sept. 8.
From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., their parking lot will be filled with artists’ beautiful wares—jewelry, drawings, paintings, pottery, photography, rag rugs and more.
Artists who have already registered include Marilyn Cuellar with drawings and cards; Ivan Amman with wood mosaic intarsia; Ellen Bokde-handmade wool products; Lakeland Alpacas with live alpacas and alpaca fleece products; Judy Durie-one-of-a-kind handbags and accessories; Sprite Creations with handcrafted jewelry; Birch Bay Candle Company; Charles and Rene Grisham with fused glass art; Tracy Heinze—handmade jewelry; and WillowBridge Center, with a large selection of gifts from their boutique. Local winery, Stark Wines, will be on hand to offer samples and take orders.
At 10:30 a.m., ABC Theatre actors will present a short skit from the repertoire. Music for the day will include Barb and Eben Gillespie, a well-known local duo, singing their beautiful harmonies from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., and Kenny Krona and Gwen Anderson will wrap things up with blues and folk and rock’n’roll from 1:30 to 2:45 p.m.
City Center Café will offer smoothies and frappes for $3 for the day. City Center Market’s Deli will feature a lunch special of grass-fed beef sloppy joes and local cabbage slaw for $4. As always, dessert treats and sodas are available in the Co-op, along with other salads and sandwiches.
The Cambridge-Isanti Farmers’ Market, which is always open on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., will remain open until 3 p.m. for the Art Festival.
City Center Market is located at 122 N. Buchanan St., Cambridge (the corner of Buchanan and Hwy. 95).
