Memorial Blood Centers Blood Drive

Thursday, Aug. 23: A blood drive is being held at the Isanti Community Center from 11:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. “Give a Pint, Get a Pint” is the theme—receive a commemorative pint glass and a coupon for a free beverage at a participating restaurant. All donors will also receive a free “Fishing for Donors” T-shirt.

Dinners at Cambridge American Legion

Friday, Aug. 24: A Grilled Pork Chop Dinner will be held at the American Legion in Cambridge on Aug. 24 beginning at 5 p.m. and served until gone. Chicken Dinners will be served on the first and third Fridays in October and each month following for the season.

7th Annual John Larson Memorial Ride

Sunday, Aug. 26: The 7th annual John Larson Memorial Ride will begin at Larsons Cycle in Cambridge around 10:30 a.m. for refreshments. Ride leaves at 11:30 a.m. No cost to ride. Approximate 90-mile easy-paced ride of mostly back roads. Mid-point stop for refreshments. Isanti Weekly Car Show

Sunday, Aug. 26: The Isanti Weekly Car Show, presented by Rum River Rods Car Club, will host its final show of the season from noon to 4 p.m. at Lake State Federal Credit Union in Isanti (corner of Hwy. 65 & Co. Rd. 5). $5 admission per vehicle and all proceeds are donated to Family Pathways Food Shelf. All entrants will receive a ticket for a free door prize. Bring a food donation item and get another ticket for a chance at winning a door prize. Goodie bags to first 50 entrants. Live DJ, and awards given. BBQ on site available to purchase. Thursday, Aug. 30: The Cambridge Customer Appreciation Event planning committee will meet at 2 p.m. at the Minnco Center in Cambridge. All are welcome to assist in the planning of this annual event scheduled for Sept. 14.

5th Annual Art Festival

Saturday, Sept. 8: City Center Market will be sponsoring their 5th Annual Art Festival from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Twenty or so local artists will be on hand with their pottery, jewelry, wood art, paintings, photography, rag rugs and much more for you to choose from. Christ the King Pork Chop Dinner

Sunday, Sept. 9: Christ the King Catholic Church in Cambridge, 305 Fern St. N., will have its annual “Pork Chop Dinner” from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Catholic Parish Hall. The public is invited to enjoy a delicious dinner at an affordable price. Tickets are $9/adults, $6/ages 6-12 with five and under free. There will also be a bake sale, kids carnival and a silent auction that ends at 1:15 p.m.

Free Compute Class

Sept. 20-21: There will be a free computer class held at the Joy Lutheran Church just south of Cambridge. To register call Vicki at 763-689-5912. The class will be held Sept. 20 and Sept. 21 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. This is a beginning computer class, but will benefit people at all skill levels. Topics include: computer terminology, the parts inside the computer, tips for buying one, should you buy a laptop, pros and cons of different stores and plenty of time for questions. The instructor is Dave Larson.
