A 19-year-old Isanti woman was arraigned Aug. 14 in Anoka County District Court on a felony check forgery charge.

Tabitha Leigh Trescott was also arraigned on a misdemeanor receiving stolen property charge. She was arrested Aug. 12 by the Blaine Police Department. Her next court appearance is Sept. 11.

According to the criminal complaint, a Blaine Police officer on Aug. 12 found a checkbook and Minnesota driver’s license that belonged to another woman in a vehicle that Trescott was driving with other people in it. The lady who the license and checkbook belonged to had reported her purse stolen on July 26 to the Eagan Police Department.

Carbon copies of checks allegedly showed that about a dozen purchases had been made with the checkbook at various businesses. The most recent was a $494.78 check written to Cub Foods. Video surveillance at Cub Foods allegedly showed Trescott paying with a check.
