Lillie M. O’Hotto, 80, of Isanti died August 20, 2012 at Cambridge Medical Center.
Lillie Marget O’Hotto was born Jan. 6, 1932 in Kelliher, Minn. to Ole and Selma (Bent) Pearson. They also lived in Sidelake before moving to Hibbing where Lillie graduated from Hibbing High School. In 1951 Lillie married Harold O’Hotto and they had two children, Tom and Margit. Lillie later moved to the Coopers Corner area in Bethel where she raised her children. She worked as a cook at St. Francis Elementary School and then as a Quality Control Facilitator at Federal Cartridge until her retirement. Lillie built a beautiful log home in Waskish where she lived until 2000 when she moved to Isanti. In her young adult years she enjoyed fishing. She also enjoyed knitting, playing cards, working on crafts and especially playing Mexican Train. Lillie loved visiting with her family and friends and she immensely enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Lillie will be lovingly remembered by her son, Tom (Bonnie) O’Hotto of Cambridge; one brother, Vincent (Maryann) Pearson of Carson City, Nevada; one sister, Vivian Buckingham of Isanti; 6 grandchildren, Tamara (Troy) Strecker, Melanie (Shaun) Murray, Joel (Michele) Hansel, Tom II (Melissa) O’Hotto, Greg Yerigan, and Lisa Yerigan (Kenneth Noren); 10 great-grandchildren, Elise, Lily, Meagan, Evan, William, KeOntay, Damian, Madison, Lucas, and Lausen; and by many other relatives and friends. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her daughter, Margit; three brothers, Peter, Nils and Harry Pearson; and sister, Ellen Nylund.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 24, 2012 at Faith Lutheran Church in Isanti with Rev. Clifton Hanson officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Shirley Olson will serve as organist. Pallbearers will be KeOntay Berg, Joel Hansel, Tom O’Hotto II, and Troy Strecker. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Strike Funeral Home – Isanti Chapel.
