“There is still so much we can share, so much fun to be experienced, so much to be learned. Our Girl Scout experiences, our memories, our passion for the movement offer enticement to girls to join an organization that is historic in its mission of serving only girls.” —Helen Schadegg, Girl Scout alumna
Since 1912, millions of women’s lives have been positively influenced by Girl Scouts, whether they joined as a girl or as an adult volunteer. Twenty-five percent of American women, 80 percent of female business owners and two out of three women in Congress are Girl Scout alumnae.
The River Valleys Alumnae Association was formed in June 2011 to reconnect hundreds of thousands of alumnae across the region. Whether a Girl Scout Brownie for one year or a volunteer leader for 20 years, every alumna is forever a part of a rich, vibrant network. The Alumnae Association serves to provide opportunities for reminiscing, networking, mentorship, leadership and service.
Reconnect: Becoming a member of the Alumnae Association is free and does not require a current Girl Scout membership. It can be done easily and quickly at GirlScoutsRV.org/alumnae.
Rediscover: Registering online enables alumnae to receive the periodic alumnae e-newsletter, join or start an alumnae social group, participate in alumnae opportunities and Centennial events, and help girls build confidence and learn new skills.
