MN Wrestling team wins AAU Junior Olympic Games

Team Minnesota went undefeated in 18 duals and placed first out of 19 wrestling teams at the AAU Junior Olympic Games freestyle duals. Competition was held July 30 – Aug. 3 at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, Texas. Cambridge-Isanti wrestlers on Team Minnesota were Clayton Jennissen (13-2, Silver Medal winner) and Travis Holt (12-2, Silver Medal). Earlier in July, Bluejacket Wrestlers placed 3rd at the Malecek Team Camp at Chula Vista in the Wisconsin Dells. There were 60 teams from four states competing. Travis Holt and Cody Auren won their matches in the All-Star meet sponsored by the camp staff. Also in July, the 15th annual Cambridge-Isanti Bluejacket Summer Wrestling Camp. Over 50 wrestlers from several communities participated. Local star wrestlers Tony Nelson and Jake Avre led the technique sessions.
