In response to Mr. Bacon’s article titled “Jobs & Wealth.” He talks about natural resources and ‘da range.’ Minnesota had one of the richest iron ore deposits in the world. We supplied most of the ore used by this nation to build war material for us and the rest of the free world. The U.S. Government paid all industries cost, plus 10 percent.
After the rich deposits were mined, the wealth left the iron range. The people who had done the work were left to fend for themselves and had the piles of slag in their backyard. I believe natural resources belong to the people. Wealth raped the country and left with the profits. The riches of the country goes to the few who think they have no responsibility to the country.
