The Isanti County Agricultural Society Board of Directors would like to thank everyone who came out and joined us in “Discovering Living History” at the 135th Annual Isanti County Fair; making this year’s fair a memorable one.
With good weather overall; fair visitors enjoyed great entertainment and plenty of food, fun and exhibits. The Board of Directors were able to provide several new attractions thanks to the “Legacy Amendment” which provided grant money to the state’s county fairs through the ‘County Fair Arts Access and Cultural Heritage Grant Program.’ Thanks to this funding, the Board of Directors were able to promote our area’s history and culture with attractions which included the Old West Society, Great Lakes Timber Show and our own Heritage Corral.
The Board would like to recognize and thank ABC Theatre Company for their nightly presentations of ‘Pickled or Pickles’ based on the true history of Cambridge; and thank the Isanti County Historical Society for manning our Heritage Corral featuring historical farming implements and equipment.
As always, our thanks goes out to the Isanti County Sheriffs Department; Isanti County Safety Rescue; Allina Medical Services; and the Cambridge Fire Department, who provide us with professional assistance throughout the week. Thanks also goes out to the other governmental entities and non-profits such as the Isanti Fire District and the safe kitchen demonstrations; Isanti County Veterans Service Office and service organizations for help with the opening ceremonies and flag raising; the Isanti County Commission on Aging and SAC’s for the Seniors Day Program, the Isanti Lions for their help with the Corn Feed, and all of the volunteers from local non-profits for their donation of hours spent helping the fair.
However, the largest thanks goes out to all of the exhibitors, participants, vendors, sponsors, businesses, fair volunteers and individuals who contributed not only services, goods, and financial support; but took time out of their personal life during the week to come out to participate and help with this great Isanti County summer celebration. The list is too numerous to name them all—but a sincere thank you to all as the fair would not happen without the help and support of the entire community.
