Charlotte Stuempges was born Jan. 12, 1922 in Hibbing, Minn. to William and Bertha (Magnuson) Harrison. She was raised in Hibbing and graduated from Hibbing High School. On June 26, 1942 she married Norman Stuempges in Hibbing where they made their first home. In 1956 they moved to Isanti. Charlotte worked as a LPN at the Cambridge State Hospital. In 1971 they moved to Skogman Lake in rural Cambridge. Charlotte was a long time active member of Stanchfield Baptist Church. She crocheted afghans for church that were given to those in need. Charlotte and Norman’s mutual marriage motto was “It’s better to live for Christ than to wish you had.” Charlotte was a wonderful woman of God, “Beauty surrounds her as the Grace of God.” She loved her family and the family activities and was also a lover of plants, trees and flowers.
Charlotte is survived by her 3 children, Richard (Joanne) Stuempges of Bellevue, Penn., Candyce (Steve) McGraw of White Bear Lake, Shawn (Cathrine) Stuempges of Cambridge; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Betty Lou Harrison of Havre, Mont., Connie Chapinski of Duluth; and by many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 20, 2012 at Stanchfield Baptist Church with Rev. Dale Cope officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church on Friday. Vocalists will be Shawn Stuempges, Moriah Lindblom, Steve McGraw, and the grandchildren. Claudia Hardy will serve as organist and Pam Theline will be the pianist. Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. Interment will be in Stanchfield Baptist Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Strike Funeral Home – Cambridge Chapel.
