36th Annual Isanti Rodeo a success

Dear Editor:

On behalf of the entire Isanti Fire Department Rodeo Association, I thank each of you who attended and helped make the 36th Annual Professional Rodeo an absolutely incredible fundraising event for the Fire Department two weekends ago.

The weather, although a bit warm, was very nice for watching the sport of rodeo. Mutton bustin’ was a hit with the kids and spectators. The rodeo stock, clowns, and contestants were great. The bands of Iron Horse and Stems County 17 provided great music for the dances.

Our biggest crowds are always on Saturday and we had a record crowd this year. Even though we added additional seating for this years rodeo, it was standing room only and several were turned away. We apologize and assure you that additional seating options will be looked at for next year. The preferred seating, the club seating, and the 10 person suites offer an excellent birds-eye view at the Isanti Rodeo. Please call 612- 669-2326 for details and to reserve yours for next year.

I would like to thank all of my fellow firefighters and their families who go out of their way every year to make this event run as smoothly as possible. Thanks to the security staff, and the emergency service personnel who put in the long hours to keep this summer celebration safe and orderly.

A special thanks to all the individuals and businesses who gave talent, equipment and support so willingly. We appreciate the partnership. The enthusiasm and community spirit generated is overwhelming.

And again, thank you to our rodeo friends and fans for having made 36 years of fundraising a very successful community event. Over $1.2 million have been used to enhance and improve fire/rescue services in the Isanti Fire District. You are the ones that make this possible. Watch for some additional positive changes to the 37th Annual Firefighters Rodeo July 12-13, 2013. Mark your calendars!

Tom Pagel, President
