Jerome John Schunk
He was born May 1,1929, the son of Albert and Anna (Jenniges) Schunk. He served in the Army 6 years and received commendations for service in Korea and Japan.
He was united in marriage to Mary Walter July 30, 1955. They made their home in Bloomington, Minn. where their five children were born. In 1969 he retired from the Postal Service and they moved to Isanti, Minn. where he owned and operated Schunk’s Variety for 14 years. They retired to Florida but spent many summers in Isanti.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Mary, sons Steve (Beth) of Battle Lake, Minn., Allen Schunk of Port Richey, Fla., daughters Val (Barry) Call of Palmetto and Natalie Schunk (Mike Painter) of Sweeny, Texas, daughter-in-law Corinne Schunk of Isanti, Minn., grandchildren: Carrie (Matt) Hawkins of Fargo, N.D., Katie Schunk and Anna Schunk, both of Bradenton Fla., Seth Meyers of Sweeny, Texas and Brittany Call of Searcy, Ark.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, 1 sister, and son Kevin. Private family service to be held in Palmetto, Fla. with internment in Union Cemetery of Isanti, Minn. at a later date.
