The Cambridge Ambassador Program is proud to have 2011 Ambassador Jessicah Rooney representing the community at the 2012 Minneapolis Aquatennial next week, July 15-21.
Spending a week participating in the Queen of the Lakes Scholarship Program is an extraordinary once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for a select few young women each summer. We are thrilled to have such a sweet, giving, and dedicated young woman representing Cambridge at the “Best Days of Summer.”
As a candidate, Jessicah will enjoy a myriad of amazing activities such as dinner with the Visiting Dignitaries at Fogo de Chao prior to the Torchlight Parade, a day of yachting with the Power Boat Squadron on Lake Minnetonka, and special events set up by Aquatennial alumni groups. There will be daily interviews with the judges, culminating with the Queen of the Lakes Coronation on Friday, July 20.
This is an extra-special year for our community, with former Cambridge Ambassadors and current Aquatennial Princess Cayla Yund and Captain Jennifer Brentano making appearances throughout the “Best Days of Summer” events.
Come join the fun yourself on Wednesday, July 18 at the always breathtaking Torchlight Parade along Hennepin Avenue. Cheer on Jessicah and the other 46 candidates, along with the city of Cambridge float, Cayla and Jen.
Well-wishes may be sent to “Jessicah Rooney, Cambridge” at Minneapolis Marriott City Center, 30 South 7th Street, Minneapolis, MN 55402. Flowers or gifts sent to the hotel should also include the phrase “Aquatennial Hospitality Room.” Cayla will be at the same hotel from July 18-20.
