Redbirds sweep double-header with Big Lake

Isanti Redbird notes from Manager Steve Allen: Returning from a one week break and from all the Isanti Jubilee Days activities, Isanti got back into action July 8 and won two games from the Big Lake Whitecaps in a day/night home and away doubleheader.

The ‘Birds played at Big Lake in the first game and won 6-2.  Dallas Nelson pitched a complete game for his sixth win of the season, striking out six and only giving up six hits. The top of the batting order did most of the damage, with BJ Samuelson, Packy Lind, Eric Rysdam and Kyle Johnson each getting two hits.

The Redbirds returned to Isanti to defeat the Whitecaps 4-1 in the nightcap.  Strong pitching was provided this time by Adam West and Justin Krie.  Adam pitched the first 7 1/3 innings to get his sixth win of the season.  Eric Rysdam and Kyle Johnson each had two RBI’s.  Kyle got his two RBI’s on his sixth home run of the season (Kyle is currently tied with teammate Jake Maros for the team leadership in home runs).  BJ Samuelson, Eric Rysdam, Tyler Schaff and Brent Burman all had two hits each.
