She was born Jan. 30, 1929 to Mathias and Anna Maria Amberg in Wurzburg, Germany. In 1957, Anna Marie married Edwin Jabs Sr, and moved to Minneapolis. Years later they moved to a farm in Cambridge, Minn. where they raised 5 children.
Anna Maria retired from the State of Minnesota and enjoyed her time by gardening and spending time with friends and family. She always had a full pot of coffee and cake to share to anyone who would stop by and visit. Anna Maria was very proud of her German heritage and loved each and every one of her German friends.
She is survived by five children, Bernhard Jabs (Lea), MaryAnn Peters (Tim), Edwin Jabs Jr.(Sharna), Bernice Meyer (Brian), Mathew Jabs (Melanie), fourteen grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, a brother-in-law Elmer Jabs, and many nieces and nephews. Her family includes many cousins, friends and neighbors; she was known to all as Oma.
Anna Maria was preceded in death by her husband Edwin, grandson, Travis, brothers: Karl, Urban, Mathias, Longin, sister Elizabeth, and parents.
Funeral Services will be held at 9 a.m., Friday, July 13, 2012 at the Cambidge Lutheran Church with Rev. David Everett officiating. Organist will be Mary Kay O’Neill. Visitation will be held Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Carlson-Lillemoen Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Damon Bilitz, Nathan Peters, Lance Corporal Meyer, Dylan Jabs, Garrett Reeverts and Randy Thompson. Interment will be in the Minnesota State Veteran’s Cemetery in Little Falls, Minn. Arrangements are with the Carlson-Lillemoen Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Cambridge.
