Ryan Miller broke up the no hitter and the perfect game in the fourth with the only hit for Post #290. McCracken took the loss, Renstrom and Skog also saw a couple innings on the mound.

Isanti VFW Baseball 3-6 on season

The Isanti VFW summer baseball squad went 2-2 over its last set of games which included a 7-6 win over Irondale and a 10-6 loss at the hands of Chisago Lakes.

On June 25, the Post #2735 defeated North Branch 10-0 in six innings. An impressive effort by Cody Binger led VFW Post #2735 to a 10-0 win in six innings over North Branch on Friday at Larson Field-Cambridge.

Binger looked sharp on the mound. North Branch managed just one hit off of Binger, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out seven during his six innings of work.

Seven runs in the opening three innings allowed VFW Post #2735 to easily put away North Branch. A two-run single by Eli Otte during the second inning supplied the early offense for VFW Post #2735. Carson Burns went a perfect 4-4 at the plate for VFW Post #2735 . He singled in the second, third, fifth, and sixth innings.

Later in the week, rival St. Francis held off Isanti 8-7 despite outhitting St. Francis 11 to 7. Carson Burns racked up two RBIs on three hits for VFW Post #2735 . He singled in the fourth, sixth, and seventh innings. Oie recorded the win for St. Francis. He tossed 1 1/3 innings of shutout ball. Oie struck out two, walked none and gave up one hit. St. Francis was sparked by Barette and Carlson, who teamed up for five hits and six RBIs.
