The Cambridge-Isanti High School Pool is ready for kids and families with Summer Open Swim. Sessions are scheduled from 2 to 4 p.m. each Tuesday and Thursday between June 12 and Aug. 2. (Note: No swim July 5.) In addition to a per person price, there is a household price which makes this a great family activity. CIHS Pool Coordinator Jennifer Olson said, “Open Swim is a great time for kids to have fun in the water in a safe, supervised environment.”
CIHS Pool Staff is also offering a variety of swimming lesson options. During Parent & Child Swim, parents get into the pool with their toddlers to help their children adjust to the water while they are learning basic swimming skills. For children ages 4 and 5, the staff instructs Preschool Aquatics. With CIHS POOL lessons through the summer, children in Kindergarten through grade 12 are invited to participate in the CIHS Red Cross Learn to Swim Program.
For swimmers who have completed Level 4 and are interested in working on swim techniques, Olson recommends the C-I Summer Aquatics offerings. “We invite kids in Grades 3 – 11 to participate in our Summer Aquatics program,” Olson said. “Kids improve their swimming skills while concentrating on specific goals. The kids really seem to have a great time with the staff and other swimmers.”
